This Blog is No Longer Active

I mean, I will post every once in a while. On holidays, for example. And I will still be on Skype and Twitter, so feel free to strike up a conversation with me. Ahem, I mean, please keep in touch. Please? But I will no longer be posting regularly on the Diary. You are still welcome to view the archives and comment.

I don't have the time to post or contribute anymore, nor a reason to do so. I don't enjoy this anymore. Thank you to everyone, thanks to my friends, thanks for all the feedback I've gotten over the years, thank you to every one that has supported me and thank you to everyone that has contributed to this community.

Virtual hugs and fist pumps to all of you, from meh!

Take care!

Pet-a-palooza and yes, Summer Reading

Between June 6th 2011 and June 14th 2011, you can adopt some interesting pets!

All our pets are on sale, some up to 50% off their regular Crowns price! For this special event, we've brought back some previously retired pets and there will be new pets released throughout the month of June!

Visit the Crown Shop to buy your pets today!

We're also giving you a pet snack the first time you login during Pet-a-palooza! The random snack will appear in your Gift window the first time you log in to the game between June 6th and June 14th.

We're going petsy! Which isn't a word..but oh well.

Anyway, I thought I'd do a 'summer reading' post today. No, I do not have a picture of my bookshelf to show you. Why? It's a bit empty... I don't really buy that many books.

Favorite Author:
KIRSTEN MILLER! I admit I am a bit of a Kirsten Miller fangirl. I check her blog every day, I've read each of her books at least twice, and I entered her All You Desire ARC (that's advance reading copy to all you non-book enthusiasts out there) contest with a book cover that I spent a long time on. More than 2 hours. Yeah, I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Unfortunately I was not a finalist. (I KNEW I should have colored it!) Here's the book cover I drew here: (It looks better in real life. I'm serious.)
The reason why I didn't put the little details in the hands is
because they could be silhouettes. The little thing for the o is an ouroboros.

Books you should read over the summer (in no particular order):

The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan- As with any Rick Riordan book, it's really good.

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo- It's a classic. Read it. Now. An abridged version.

The entire Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan- Halt is epic.

Maximum Ride by James Patterson- I've only read the first two books, but if you like books like Percy Jackson, you'll want to read this series.

Matched by Ally Condie- Personally, it's not my favorite YA books, but my friend likes it and you may want to give it a try.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins- Amazing, but over-read.

The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld- It's like Matched (more like Matched is like Uglies) but I personally think it's better, there's just more action and suspense.

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy- Ah... Just kidding. I'll probably die before I finish this book. Especially the unabridged version.

Powers by Jane White- What, you haven't heard of it? Looks like Donna needs to work on publicity...

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams- Read it now. Just do it.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling- You've been living under a rock for the past 10 years if you haven't heard of this.

Anything by Kirsten Miller

Every Soul A Star by Wendy Mass- Wendy Mass is awesome. Best realistic fiction I've read.

I really can't think of anything else right now, so...

To read:

Radiance by Alyson Noel

All You Desire and Darkness Dwellers

Looking at the New York Times Bestseller List:

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

Yumeiro Patissiere manga (What?)

Crossed by Ally Condie

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto- Why would I read this if it had such bad reviews on Amazon? Because I want to read a book with these bad reviews. I want to see the mistakes not to make.

Take care!

Suzanne Collins wrote another series a long time before Hunger Games named "The Underland Chronicles." The age range is 8-13 years but I have to say that I read it and it's wonderful storytelling. Sort of like how Harry Potter is for young adults but grown-ups like it too. The first book in the series is "Gregor the Overlander." I hope a few people will take a look at it. :)
